Amanpulo
is set on its own private island, Pamalican, part of the Quiniluban
group of Cuyo Island in the Philippines. Guests arrive from Manila
by chartered plane which lands directly on Pamalican.
Surrounded
by while sand beaches, turquoise water and a coral reef three
hundred metres from the shore, the resort provides a variety of
watersports and beach activities.
From the Amanpulo swimming pool, guests enjoy views of the surrounding
islands.
Forty casitas are set amongst the beachfront vegetation, perched
on a hillside or set between the treetops. Designed as a modern
version of the Filipino "bahay kubo" house, all casitas
are of the same size. Casita facilities include a personal IDD
telephone, CD player and satellite television. Each casita comes
with its own personal cart.
The inside front cover features the view from one of the beachfront
casitas.
Each casita features a bedroom with kingsize bed, two window divans,
a spacious bathroom with a bathtub, separate shower and a spacious
dressing area.
A separate room next to the lobby can be set up for small meetings.
The lobby lounge overlooks the pool and is adjacent to the bar
which serves cocktails and light refreshments.
Resort facilities include a library complete with boardgames,
laser discs and CDs; boutique and art gallery featuring Filipino
artifacts, jewellry and clothing; day and night all-weather tennis
courts and picnic grove.
The surrounding waters provide a wide variety of marine life and
dive sites. Watersports include snorkeling, scuba-diving (with
P.A.D.I. certification available), windsurfing, sailing, fishing,
boat trips and beachcombing.
In addition to watersports, the resort offers guided eco-walks,
cycling, picnicing, and massage in the privacy of one's casita,
or in one of the swimming pool's salas.
Amanpulo
or "peacful island" was created for travellers seeking
the idyllic beauty of a tropical island.
